Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data PlanetExpat processes, why, and your rights under the GDPR. It is a starting template and should be reviewed by your own legal counsel before launch.

What we collect

• Account data, your email address and authentication details, handled by our auth provider (Supabase). We never store your password ourselves.
• Saved places, the cities and neighbourhoods you save, linked to your account.
• Payment data, processed by Stripe. We receive a payment confirmation and your plan status; we never see or store your card details.
• Technical data, basic, privacy-preserving usage and error information needed to run the service.

Neighbourhood data

Our scores are built on public, aggregated statistics (Statistics Netherlands and police open data). This is not personal data and is never linked to individuals.

Why we process it

To provide your account, deliver paid access, save your favourites, and keep the service secure. We do not sell your data or use it for third-party advertising.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your account data at any time. Email privacy@planetexpat.nl and we will respond within the statutory period.

Retention

We keep account data while your account is active. Delete your account and we remove your personal data, except where we must retain payment records for legal/accounting obligations.
